THE CLONE TOOL
(previously known as the rubber stamp):
The clone stamp tool is necessary to repeat a group of pixels. First the to be copied selection is choosen and then you paint that selection over other areas of the photo. Deleting someone out of a picture is merely a process of coping the backgroun pixles over top the person.
THE DODGE TOOL
The dodge tool will lighten pixels it is dragged over. The percentage can be changed with the option tool bar also location with this tool and it can lighten the highlights, midtones, or shadows, but not all three at the same time.

THE BLUR TOOL
The blur and other related tools are used to "focus" images and clean up pixels. They harden or soften edges within an image and are great for retouching and special effects. When cutting and pasting pieces of images, these tools work to smooth the contrast between the newly pasted section. It's another tool to be used in conjunction with the clone stamp.
ERASER TOOL
The erasers are reverse paintbrushes; they pick up the color and turn it to the background color or transparent (see left...the background color in this picture is the white).

EYEDROPPER TOOL
The eyedropper will match any color that it is used to select.
